+ The Knop Science Scholarship
This is an invitation-only only scholarship for students who have been accepted to Ripon College for the upcoming academic year. 
The Knop Science Scholarship is a prestigious four-year, full tuition scholarship based on 2025-2026 tuition figures. The Ripon College Knop Science Scholars Board convenes each year at the beginning of the second semester.

The mission of the board is to identify high-achieving students who show the potential to contribute greatly to the science and mathematics departments at Ripon College as well as those who will benefit the most from special scholarly opportunities.

EligibilityThe Knop Science Scholarship has specific scholarship requirements. Students must have a 3.9 high school GPA or higher and intend to major in a STEM field in college such as Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics.
  • Invitations to apply will be sent to qualified accepted students in early January.
  • Invited students will be asked to submit a five minute video describing their background, experiences, interests and/or career goals in an area of the sciences or mathematics.
Step 1
Submit a video

Create a 3–5 minute video expressing your STEM interests. Be creative, show your personality, and go beyond just talking to the camera.

Prompts to consider:

  • What are your future career ambitions?
  • What inspires your interest in STEM?
  • What experiences led to your career interest?
  • What research are you currently or hoping to participate in?

Requirements:

  • Length: 3–5 minutes (disqualified if not met)
  • State your name, school, and intended STEM major at the start
  • Only one submission is allowed

    • Or share via Google Drive with Commenter permissions
  • Deadline: March 1, at 11:59 p.m. CT
Step 2
Finalist Interview

Finalists will be selected based on video submissions and invited to interview with Ripon College faculty.

  • Notifications about finalists will occur by mid-March before Ripon College's spring break.
  • Interviews with the Knop Scholarship Committee will be held after Ripon College's spring break into early April.
    • Interviews with faculty will be conducted on campus or via Zoom.
Step 3
Winner Announced

The Knop Scholars Committee will choose and notify a scholarship recipient by mid-April at the latest.

  • The recipient must commit to Ripon College to receive the scholarship.
    • The scholarship recipient will be given a week to make their decision.
  • If the first scholarship recipient declines or doesn't respond to the Knop Scholarship Committee, the award will go to the next finalist.
